Personal Training: Fees and Plans

Notice: Fees below are for the 2017-18 calendar year.  Click on the "Getting Started" link to access the required forms and get more information about working with a CFC Personal Trainer.

Fitness Intake--Fee: $20 for Private Fitness Intake or $15 for Group Setting Fitness Intake. A Fitness Intake is mandatory before other Personal Training Services can be purchased! The group intakes take place in Helen Newman Hall on the last Wednesday of the month at 3pm (8/30, 9/27, 10/25) and first Tuesday of the month at 3:30pm (9/5, 10/3, 11/7).

  • The Fitness Intake is a one hour meeting that serves to gather information about a new client, as well as to educate about critical exercise principles. It includes a review of your health history, your exercise habits, your current fitness level, and discussion regarding your preferences and goals. There is time to discuss exercise guidelines, program design, nutrition resources, and to answer any general fitness questions. For this appointment, street clothes are fine. You will be asked to complete all forms from the Personal Trainer Packet and bring them to this appointment. The health screening process is necessary to help the trainers determine if you can start a new exercise program without consulting a physician. If any health issues are identified that require medical clearance, our trainers can help facilitate this process.

One-On-One Training--Fee: $35.00 per 1-hour session /4-session package at the rate of $130

  • During each one-on-one session our certified Personal Trainers will lead you through a workout geared towards your fitness interests and goals. Our Personal Trainers will create an exercise experience that is safe, effective, and hopefully, gratifying. Personal Trainers benefit those who want individualized exercise instruction, like frequent feedback on technique, and/or those who like a little extra motivation to keep up a fitness routine. The trainer will ask for input from the client, on how to spend the time in each session (i.e., do you want to focus on proper form, learn new exercises, get extra motivation, or simply be led through an effective exercise session, etc.). All sessions are 1 hour in duration. All Personal Trainers have nationally recognized certifications.

Body Composition Testing

  • A Fitness Intake meeting is not required for body composition testing.  It is recommended that you read about the body composition testing protocol before your appointment.  When performed according to recommended protocols, both of the methods listed below have approximately the same degree of accuracy.

Skinfold Caliper Testing --Fee: $20

  • The skinfold method uses calipers to measure the thickness of skinfolds at 3 to 7 sites, thereby measuring fat stored just under the skin. A regression equation is used to calculate an estimate of body density and body composition from this information. Skinfold measurements should not be done immediately after exercise. BIA testing is included, if desired

BIA Testing --Fee: $8

  • BIA (bio-electrical impedance analysis) is a fast and easy method of measuring body fat in which a safe, low-level electrical signal is sent through the body to estimate your body fat volume and percentage by weight. It is best to take BIA body composition readings at a consistent time of day when you are normally hydrated.
