Spring Into Wellbeing Challenge

Challenge Overview:

  • Did you register after the challenge started on April 9? No worries, we welcome you to participate in as many weeks of the challenge, and in as many pop-ups that fit into your schedule. You'll still be eligible to win weekly and pop-up prizes.

This is a 4-week challenge open to Cornell staff, faculty, students, retirees, spouses and partners that focuses on the 8 dimensions of Wellbeing: Social, Occupational, Physical, Spiritual, Environmental, Financial, Emotional, and Intellectual. This challenge is brought to you by Cornell Recreational Services and Cornell Wellness.

Participants will "report in" weekly, and those successfully completing all four weeks of challenges will be entered into a drawing for two grand prize package giveaways (approximate value $100 each) at the end of the contest. Additionally, 4 weekly prize winners and pop-up prize winners will be drawn each week and will receive giveaways (approximate value $1-$20 each).

How The Challenge Works:

  • This Challenge runs Monday, April 9 through Sunday, May 6, for a total of 4 weeks.
  • Registration opens March 21 and continues on a rolling basis. Individuals register themselves. Registration is open to Cornell staff, faculty, students, retirees, and their spouses/partners.
  • Each week of the contest, participants will be emailed on Mondays a list of approximately 14 challenges that fall under 2 of the 8 dimensions of Wellbeing. Participants will choose 2 challenges from the list; one from each dimension, and will have the rest of that week until midnight on Sunday to complete them. A report-in link will be emailed to participants on Mondays to report in if the participants successfully completed that week’s 2 challenges. Report-ins must be completed within 24 hours of receiving the link to be eligible for that week’s prize drawing. Over the 4 week period of the contest all 8 dimensions of Wellbeing will be covered.
  • Pop-up challenges. Pop-up challenges that focus on social and group themed challenges will occur throughout the 4 weeks of the challenge. Participants will have two days to complete each pop-up after it's been announced. Pop-up challenges will be announced through social media.     • Grand Prize Winners - 2 Winners who participated in all 4 weeks of the contest will be randomly selected to win a prize package from these choices:
      • Gift Basket of Locally Made Items, value $100. This fantastic gift basket includes maple syrup, soaps, cheeses, honey, seasonal fruits and vegetables, pottery, and more all made in and around the Finger Lakes region.
      • Exercise Equipment Package, value $100. Choose $100 of recreation themed items that meet your individual needs. Items such as hand weights, yoga mat, jump rope, tracking device, can be mixed and matched to support your health and fitness goals.
    • Weekly Challenge Prize Winners - Each week, 4 prizes will be randomly drawn for those participating in the weekly challenges:
      • Social/Occupational: Week 1 - Movie tickets to Cinemopolis. Out of town winners will receive a Cornell University tee shirt from the Cornell Store.
      • Physical/Spiritual: Week 2 - Reusable water bottle
      • Environmental/Financial: Week 3 - Handy multi-compartment reusable lunch containers
      • Emotional/Intellectual: Week 4 - Ear buds
    • Pop-up Prize Winners - Groups winning the pop-up challenge prizes will be treated to lunch at any one of Cornell Dining’s all-you-care-to-eat eateries. Out of town winners will receive Cornell Store swag.
