Educational Workshops

Cornell Wellness staff are available to provide 15-30 minute Educational Workshops called Wellness Fundamentals Trainings to your work unit/department. Submit questions and requests to Wellness Fundamentals Trainings are 15-30 minute educational workshops that departments can offer employees to promote a culture of health and wellness in their units. Ideal for staff meetings, monthly in-service trainings, or annual gatherings.

Wellness Fundamentals Training options:

Essentials of Good Nutrition During the Work Day
Participants will be able to:

  • Identify at least three components of a healthy meal
  • Employ at least three ways to have a healthy meeting
  • Share best practices for healthy lunches and snacks

Tips and Tricks to Take a Healthy Break at Work
Participants will be able to:

  • Identify opportunities throughout their workday for micro-breaks
  • Perform 5 strength or flexibility exercises that can be done at a desk/workstation
  • Locate 4 Cornell Wellness web resources that offer fitness training, relaxation, and stress relief

Scheduling Successful Walking Meetings
Participants will be able to:

  • Learn preparations and considerations for having a walking meeting
  • Create an environment that encourages walking meetings

Navigating Requests for Using Flexibility or Release Time for Wellness
Participants will be able to:

  • Locate Flex and Release Time Guidelines for Wellness
  • Create a well thought out request that takes into consideration both the individual’s wants and the department's needs

Stillness: A Guide To Inner Acknowledgement
Participants will be able to:

  • Learn techniques to turn off the world around you and tune into yourself
  • Identify daily stressors and how to combat them with stillness
  • Learn how to create a practice of Stillness Techniques, that will help to fill the bodies internal reservoirs, allowing us to focus and reduce stress

Living Yoga Off The Mat
Participants will be able to:

  • Learn principles of the 8 fold path
  • Experience breath work and mudra (hand) techniques
  • Learn different practices of meditation

Mindfulness Meditation
Participants will be able to:

  • Learn the Benefits of Mindfulness
  • How to easily incorporate into your life
  • Experience different forms of mindfulness
  • decide which is the right style for you

Earn A Certificate!
Departments/units completing a Wellness Fundamentals Training class will receive a certificate of completion from the Cornell University Wellness Program.
