Pool Hours

FALL 2020 UPDATE: Cornell University, “must be particularly cautious to limit potential spread of COVID-19. To limit opportunities for that spread, all in-person university-sponsored events and activities will be suspended at least through the end of September. This measure applies to any group activities or gatherings sponsored by a college, department, unit or lab — whether on or off campus.” This includes open lap swim at the pools, indoor open recreation and fitness center use.

Students may sign up for Physical Education courses, including aquatic offerings that will begin September 2nd. For more information about current CFC operations: CFC Fall 2020 FAQ

According to the CDC website, there is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, or water playgrounds. Additionally, proper operation of these aquatic venues and disinfection of the water (with chlorine or bromine) should inactivate the virus. However, chlorinated water alone should not be used as a surface disinfectant.

All swimmers must also follow these General Pool Rules.

Adult Open lap swim times are open to Wellness Recreation Members, campus club members and students. All students get FREE access to the pools during open swim and aqua group fitness classes. Faculty and Staff need a Wellness Recreation Membership or purchase a day/guest pass to swim or attend classes. For more info about CFC Group Fitness, including up-to-date schedule, please visit the CFC Group Fitness webpage. No children under the age of 18 are permitted in open lap swimming.

Please note: Pool hours are subject to change. We try to post changes two weeks in advance, however, due to circumstances outside of our control, sometimes that is not possible. Please check back to this site frequently to view the most up-to-date hours of operation. Hours of operation are also posted outside HNH and Teagle Issue Room windows. Teagle Issue Room number (607) 255-1318. Helen Newman Hall Issue Room number (607) 255-8164.
