Students are the backbone of our program. The primary prerequisites for all IM student employees are dependability, self-confidence, a willingness to learn, and the ability to communicate positively with participants. We want you to come work for us!

Student Sports Officials

Intramural Sports is looking for individuals who enjoy sports and would like to stay connected through officiating! We provide all training for officiated activities, and NO EXPERIENCE is necessary. Training includes classroom, on-court, live practice, and update sessions to help the official grow in the sport. We also provide peer feedback during and after games to facilitate learning as well. Intramural Sports also provides opportunities to officiate outside of our activities through NIRSA tournaments and local organizations such as Ithaca Youth Bureau and high school boards.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Setup and breakdown of intramural sports equipment and goals
  • Administering check-in procedures of participants prior to games
  • Officiating assigned games and managing sporting behavior
  • Assisting with administrative paperwork as needed

  • Spring - Thursday, January 25, 2024, 7:00pm - Noyes Community Rec Center Basketball Court

This is REQUIRED prior to training for Fall and Spring activities.

Officials must attend the rules training, the practice games, and one mechanics meeting.
