Celebrate A World Of Flavor
You’re invited to celebrate National Nutrition Month at Cornell throughout the entire month of March. Whether you are fueling yourself in the Dining halls, at home, in an apartment, or grabbing a quick snack before practice, you’re sure to enjoy the multiple tips, tricks, and hacks provided directly to your device. Start by learning ways you can Be Creative With Carbohydrates, then move on to Tips For Varying Your Proteins, followed by Finding Flavor With Fats, and experience the finale by Spicing It Up! We’ll challenge you along the way to show us your creative yummy hacks that you come up with while sharing some of our own! The best hacks you come up with will get re-posted as Favorite Selections for all to see! This experience is provided through a partnership between Cornell Dining, Cornell Wellness, Cornell Sports Nutrition, and the Cornell Health Nutrition Team. - Haven’t tried quinoa, barley, or farro? Get familiar with these Ancient Grains by watching this 10 minute video featuring Jeremy Stewart and Kerry Howell, Wellness staff, as they share with you where you can purchase them, how to prepare them at home, and what unique benefits they have on your health. Watch Jeremy taste test them and see which makes him scrunch up his nose.
- Try Varying Your Proteins. Proteins are critical for our bodies to grow and maintain cells and tissues, like muscle. Beans which are an excellent low cost source of protein. - Find Flavor With Fats. This nutrient helps with vitamin absorption and provides sustained energy to your body during low to moderate intensity physical activities. Instead of traditional butter that contains high amounts of saturated fats, Wellness invites you to learn more about nut butters! These are packed with healthy unsaturated fats that provide nourishment and lots of flavor!
