Fitness Consultation

For Recreation Membership holders:

The initial Fitness Consultation is a great way to get started with your Wellness Recreation Membership! Fitness consultations are available to staff, faculty, retirees, spouses/partners and take place in-person, by Zoom, or phone. The meeting typically lasts about 1 hour. During that time, you and a certified personal trainer will discuss your fitness goals and options. Based on your goals, a personalized exercise plan can be developed. This plan may include the details of how and when you will exercise. The initial Fitness Consultation may also include a tour of the facility and an explanation of how to access the various perks associated with your Wellness Recreation Membership.

As a follow-up to the initial Fitness Consultation, you may also schedule additional follow-up 1-hour appointments. Based on your goals, these follow-up Fitness Consultations may take place in one of the Cornell Fitness Centers of your choosing. Your certified personal trainer may have written a personalized exercise program for you and may teach it to you in the fitness center. The goal is for you to learn the exercise program so that you can workout independently. Every few months, you may want to make an appointment with your personal trainer to update your exercise program. There is no fee for a Fitness Consultation or for the follow-up appointments. The Cornell Wellness staff are able to offer you up to 6 one-on-one meetings (including fitness consultations, nutrition consultations, fitness testing, and life coaching) per 1-year membership.

To schedule a fitness consultation, either check off the appropriate box on the Wellness Recreation Membership application or contact Cornell Wellness by email wellness@cornell.edu.
