Strengthen and condition your core muscles...and more! This short-duration series-style class, brought to you by Cornell Wellness, will focus work on your core, which involves the abdominal and back muscle groups. Additional exercises incorporate both the upper and lower body musculature as well, giving you a full-body workout! Participants must supply their own mat and are encouraged to bring a personal towel and cleaning wipes if desired, plus, don't forget a water bottle. This is a carry-in, carry-out class. Reduce Back Discomfort Through Targeted Strengthening

This 2-session class puts a special emphasis on learning how to perform strengthening exercises that help mild recurring low back discomfort. Over the course of the two sessions, Kerry Howell, Cornell Wellness staff, will progress you through basic movements designed to improve your posture, dynamic core stability, body awareness and muscular balance. In the end you will have gained both the knowledge and ability to perform these exercises on your own. This class contains two sessions - you must be able to attend both sessions. It is required that you wear comfortable athletic clothing/sneakers and bring an exercise mat, yoga mat, or beach towel to the sessions (these items are not provided). Pre-Season Speed & Agility Series

Are you planning on participating in a summer sports league that requires quick movements and agility? Could your training for a race, ride, or run benefit from specific speed drills and footwork? Want to try something new and fun that will help you feel stronger? Join Cornell Wellness for this Pre-Season Speed and Agility Series. During each moderate to high-intensity session, C Lucas will take you through a dynamic warm-up, speed & agility drills, and strength exercises. This series will help improve your reaction time, build speed and strength, and prepare you for future sports and activities. Power H.I.I.T.

A Wellness moderate to high intensity 30-minute group class!

Push, pull, squat, and lunge your way into a stronger you by using functional equipment including plyo box jumps, TRX Suspension Trainers, Slam Balls, sandbags and more.  This class will challenge your body, no matter your level of fitness, helping to improve explosive strength and power along with all of the activities you do on a daily basis. Class will be held on the Escape Fitness equipment located in the Appel Commons Friedman Fitness Center on North campus. Please note that you will be asked to wipe down any mats or equipment you use at the conclusion of the class. We provide the cleaning spray and rags. Class capacity is limited to 14. Due to the short time frame of the class be sure to be on time, late entry will not be permitted. Beebe Lake Fitness Intervals

A Wellness experience to take your walk or run up a notch!

Join a Wellness fitness professional for an experience to learn how to take your walk or your run up a notch by adding intervals. You will be taking laps around Beebe Lake, and at various stations, using your body weight to perform strength and mobility movements. Modifications will be provided for lots of choices for intensity. This is a great way to get a workout into your day and leave you with ideas for doing it on your own. Fit for a Hike: A Conditioning Class for Hiking

Join Wellness staff for a class to help you feel fit to hike our local trails this fall. In this 4-part series, Wellness fitness professional, C Lucas, will guide you through workouts designed to build your endurance, strength, and fitness so that you’ll feel confident venturing out to see the beautiful fall foliage.
